CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY

THE CONTEST IS TO BE CONDUCTED ONLY IN CANADA AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO APPLICABLE CANADIAN LAW. VOID IN WHOLE OR IN PART WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ENTRY IN THE CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONTEST RULES (THE “CONTEST RULES”).

1. CONTEST PERIOD: The contest period will begin at 12:01am Eastern Time (“ET”) on August 17, 2026, and will end at 11:59pm ET on August 27, 2026 (the “Contest Period”), after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries shall be accepted.

2. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, the entrant must be:

• a legal resident of Canada;
• the age of majority, or older, in your province/territory of residence at the time of entry; and
• meet the entry requirements set out below

(each an “Entrant”).

If, at the time of Winner Notification, a Winner does not have a Wealthsimple Chequing  account, they will be required to open one within the prescribed time as a condition of receiving the Prize (as defined below). There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple account.

Employees, officers and directors of Wealthsimple and its partners and associate companies, each of their advertising and promotional agencies and their respective affiliates and associates, independent contractors engaged by Wealthsimple to promote the Contest and such individuals’ immediate family members and persons with whom such individuals are domiciled, are not eligible to enter or participate in the Contest. For the purposes of the Contest Rules, “immediate family” refers to the spouse, dependent for federal income tax purposes, step-, biological, foster, in-law or adoptive parent, sibling or child of such an employee, agent and/or representative, or who is domiciled in the same household as any such person.

Wealthsimple shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to Wealthsimple for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify the Entrant, should the Entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.

3. HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary. On August 17, 2026, Wealthsimple will post [one (1)] related to the Contest on each of X (formerly Twitter) at www.x.com/Wealthsimple (@wealthsimple) and Instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/wealthsimple (@wealthsimple) (the “Contest Post”). There are two methods to enter into the Contest. Maximum of two (2) entries per Entrant during the Contest Period, one (1) entry earned via X and one (1) entry earned via Instagram. 

METHOD #1 (X): To obtain one (1) entry via this method, during the Contest Period, eligible Entrants must:

1. Reply to the X Contest Post with the hashtag #MonthlyMillionaire; and
2. Retweet the X Contest Post from their X account and tagging @wealthsimple.

METHOD #2 (INSTAGRAM): To obtain one (1) entry via this method, during the Contest Period, eligible Entrants must:

1. Comment on the Instagram Contest Post with the hashtag #MonthlyMillionaire; and
2. Share the Instagram Contest Post in their Instagram Stories and tagging @wealthsimple.

In order to participate in the Contest, Entrants must have a valid X or Instagram account in good standing, and such account cannot be set with to “private” or with “protected” updates during the Contest Period and when the Prize is claimed. Entrants who do not have a X or Instagram account may sign up on their own accord at www.x.com and/or www.instagram.com. All terms and conditions of creating and maintaining these accounts are governed by X and Instagram and not Wealthsimple.

Where there is a dispute in the Entrant’s identity, the authorized account holder of the X or Instagram profile used for the submitted entry shall be deemed the Entrant. For greater certainty, “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person assigned to the X or Instagram profile by X and Instagram. Wealthsimple shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification.

Notwithstanding the above criteria, each entry must also satisfy the following requirements to be considered a valid entry, specifically, it shall not: (i) include any person’s likeness without permission, (ii) include any defamatory terms or statements on any individual, place, business, group, Wealthsimple or any other entities associated with Wealthsimple, (iii) contain personal or commercial solicitations, advertisements or promotional materials, (iv) invade privacy or other rights of any individual or entity, (v) contain any materials that are unlawful or inappropriate, profane, obscene, offensive, hateful, libelous. Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove and disqualify any individual who is found to be in violation of the requirements of these rules. 

4. PRIZES/DRAW: There are a total of two (2) prizes to be won in Canada, each consisting of a CAD$10,000 cash deposit into the Winner’s Wealthsimple Chequing account (each, a “Prize”). One (1) Prize will be awarded amongst all eligible entries received by the end of the Contest Period through X, and one (1) Prize will be awarded amongst all eligible entries received by the end of the Contest Period through Instagram. 

The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, non-refundable, has no cash-surrender value, and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions. Wealthsimple reserves the right, for any reason and in its sole discretion, to substitute and/or modify the Prize with another prize that is of equal or greater value. 

One (1) entry will be selected via random drawing from among eligible entries received during the Contest Period through X, and one (1) entry will be selected via random drawing from among eligible entries received during the Contest Period through Instagram (the “Draw”) on or around August 31, 2026 at approximately 9:00am ET in Toronto, Ontario (“Draw Date”). 

The Prize will be deposited into the selected Entrant(s) that have satisfied the requirements of this Contest’s (each a “Winner”) Chequing account upon successful completion of the Winner Notification process outlined below. Prize(s) will be distributed within 10 business days of the Winner’s completion of the Winner Notification process outlined below (including, for the avoidance of doubt, the requirement for the potential Winner to open a Wealthsimple Chequing account if they do not already have one).

5. ODDS: The odds of being selected as a potential Winner are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received by Wealthsimple in each social media platform during the Contest Period. Maximum of one (1) Prize per Entrant.

6. WINNER NOTIFICATION: Within two (2) business days of the Draw Date, Wealthsimple, acting reasonably, will attempt to contact the potential Winner(s) of the Contest via direct message on the social media platform associated with the entry (“Winner Notification”). The selected Entrant must confirm receipt of the Winner Notification, and complete all steps outlined therein within the prescribed time period, including correctly answering a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question on their first attempt and completing a Winner Declaration and Release form (the “Declaration”) in accordance with instructions set out in the Winner Notification. 

For the avoidance of doubt, any in-app notification, email or other communication issued by Wealthsimple in connection with the Contest (including any notification referencing a specific prize value or prize category) does not constitute a guarantee of prize entitlement. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the contents of any such communication and Wealthsimple’s internal records, Wealthsimple’s internal records reflecting the official Draw results shall govern and be treated as final and binding for all purposes. Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to correct any erroneous communications and to award prizes in accordance with the official Draw results, notwithstanding any prior communication to the contrary.

In the event a potential Winner cannot be contacted by 11:59:59 PM ET seven (7) days after the Winner Notification (the “Claim Period”) or there is a return of any notification as undeliverable, or otherwise does not meet the eligibility or Contest requirements, they may be disqualified and Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to follow the provisions and procedures referred to above relating to selection and notification of a potential Prize winner, with the necessary amendments, until a qualified Prize winner has been duly selected, or there are no more eligible entries, whichever occurs first. Wealthsimple is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected Entrant to receive notification or for Wealthsimple to receive a selected Entrant’s response.

In order to claim a Prize, the potential Winner must have a Wealthsimple Chequing account. If, at the time of the Winner Notification, a potential Winner does not have a Wealthsimple Chequing account, they will be required to open one within the prescribed time as a condition of receiving the Prize. There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple account. Opening a Wealthsimple Chequing account is subject to Wealthsimple’s standard account opening requirements and Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to decline to open an account for any potential Winner for any reason. A potential Winner who fails to open a Wealthsimple Chequing Account by 11:59:59pm ET on the last day of the applicable Claim Period will forfeit their Prize. 

No correspondence will be entered into except with Entrants requesting the Contest Rules by mail or requesting the name(s) of the Winner for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included. Requests should be addressed to Wealthsimple’s Chief Compliance Officer at 400-80 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5V 2J4.

7. SKILL TESTING QUESTION: Before being declared a Winner of any Prize, the potential Winner shall be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question and to sign and return the Declaration within the period specified by Wealthsimple. For the avoidance of doubt, a potential Winner who fails to answer the skill-testing question correctly on the first attempt shall be disqualified and shall forfeit any entitlement to a Prize.

8. RELEASE: 

By entering the Contest, the Entrant agrees to release and to hold Wealthsimple and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related and associated entities, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators (the “Releasees”) harmless from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to the Entrant or any other person, including personal injury, death, or property damage, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any Prize, participation in the Contest, any breach of the Contest Rules, or in any Prize-related activity. The Entrant agrees to fully indemnify Wealthsimple, and the Releasees from any and all claims by third parties relating to the Contest, without limitation.

Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility or liability for lost, late, unintelligible/illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected or incomplete entries, notifications, responses, replies or any release, or for any computer, online, software, telephone, hardware or technical malfunctions that may occur, including but not limited to malfunctions that may affect the transmission or non-transmission of an entry. Wealthsimple is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest. Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Wealthsimple is not responsible for any problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail, players, applications or browsers, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website or application, or on account of any combination of the foregoing or otherwise. Wealthsimple is not responsible for any injury or damage to the Entrant or to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in the Contest. The entrant assumes liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the Contest, or by the acceptance, possession of, use of, or failure to receive any Prize. Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility or liability in the event that the Contest cannot be conducted as planned for any reason, including those reasons beyond the control of Wealthsimple, such as infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or corruption of the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, the Contest website(s) and/or the Contest application(s). Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility for entries which fail to comply with the Contest Rules. Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility for any failure of Wealthsimple’s website or application during the Contest Period, including any problems or technical malfunctions of any computer on-line systems, servers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail, notification or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, any website, any application, or any combination thereon.

Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, and/or modify, amend or suspend the Contest, and/or the Contest Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice.

9. PUBLICITY: 

Unless prohibited by law, the Winner agrees that by accepting a Prize, Wealthsimple may use the Winner’s name, likeness, voice, photo, video, city of residence, biographical information, prize information and/or statements about this Contest for publicity purposes related to this Contest in any media or format whether now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, at any time or times in perpetuity, without further compensation or notice and hereby releases Wealthsimple from any liability with respect thereto. Winner may be required to sign a document to this effect.

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade-names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations used in connection with the Contest are the property of Wealthsimple and/or its affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.

11. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION: 

By entering the Contest, the Entrant understands and agrees that Wealthsimple will collect, use and disclose their personal information for the purposes of administering the Contest (including, if applicable, providing such information to Prize suppliers solely to the extent necessary to fulfil the delivery of a Prize) and, in anonymized or aggregated form, to analyze and improve Wealthsimple’s product and service offerings, as well as in accordance with the Privacy Policy as applicable to their Wealthsimple account. Any questions regarding Wealthsimple’s Privacy Policy or the treatment of your personal information should be directed to Wealthsimple’s Chief Privacy Officer at 400-80 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5V 2J4.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, by entering the Contest, Entrants consent to Wealthsimple collection and use  of their personal information, including their email address, for the purposes of better understanding Entrants’ interests and preferences, and to send commercial electronic messages (including emails, SMS text message and other communications) to the Entrant for the purpose of marketing, promoting and offering Wealthsimple products, services or events, as well as products, services or events of Wealthsimple’s affiliates. For clarity, the collection and use of Entrants’ personal information described above is in furtherance of the Contest’s broader purpose of enabling Wealthsimple to better understand its customers and their preferences. Entrants may withdraw this marketing consent at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in each commercial electronic message or by contacting Wealthsimple. This consent for marketing communications is separate from the consent required to administer the Contest, and Entrants may enter the Contest without providing this marketing consent. 

13. SOCIAL MEDIA: This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with X or Instagram. Any questions, comments or concerns regarding the Contest should be directed to Wealthsimple and not X and Instagram. 

12. OTHER CONDITIONS AND TAMPERING:

By participating in the Contest, the Entrant agrees to be bound by the Contest Rules. The Entrant further agrees to be bound by the decisions of Wealthsimple, which shall be final and binding in all respects. All entries become the property of Wealthsimple and will not be returned and no correspondence will be made with or entered into except with selected entrant(s) or as otherwise described in these Contest Rules. 

All entries are subject to verification and winning a prize is contingent on fulfilling all the requirements set forth in the Contest Rules. Mass entries, automated entries, entries submitted by third parties, and any entries or prize claims that are late, incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified or delayed will be void. 

By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees that the Releasees have not made, with respect to each of their own products/services provided as a prize or part thereof (if applicable), any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to the prize and specifically disclaim all such warranties, including without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. 

Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant found to be:

1. violating the Contest Rules;
2. tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, the Contest website, the Contest application or any related promotional website or application;
3. using any automated, script, macro, robotic or other program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in the Contest; or
4. acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE CONTEST WEBSITE, THE CONTEST APPLICATION OR OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, WEALTHSIMPLE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. The Contest Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over Wealthsimple. 

Not applicable to residents of Quebec: To the extent permitted by applicable law, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and Wealthsimple in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario including procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws.  Invalidity or unenforceability of any provisions, in part or in full of these Contest Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability for the remainder of the rules. The Contest Rules shall be interpreted as if the invalid or unenforceable provisions were not included, should such provisions exist.

In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, or from communications from Wealthsimple representatives or employees, and/or between the English and French language version of these Contest Rules, the terms and conditions of the English language version Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control, unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law.

The total number of prizes available to be won in the Contest is limited to the number expressly stated in these Contest Rules. In the event that, due to an error relating to the entry process, verification, drawing or any other aspect of the Contest, there are more eligible prize claimants than prizes available, Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to conduct a random draw among all eligible prize claimants in order to award the correct number of prizes.

Wealthsimple further reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternate test of skill as it deems appropriate or necessary to comply with applicable law.

Wealthsimple reserves the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operator errors. Wealthsimple’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Should a winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, the winner may be required to promptly return to Wealthsimple his/her prize, or the cash value thereof.  

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person who submitted any entry, the authorized account holder of the email submitted at registration will be deemed to be the entrant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email by an e-mail address provider, service provider, or other person or organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
