Wealthsimple x BIXI Credit Card Cashback Boost Promotion (the “Promotion”)

This Promotion is sponsored by Wealthsimple Technologies Inc. (together with its affiliates  “Wealthsimple”). 
Promotion Period. From May 1, 2026 at 12:01AM ET (the “Promotion Period”).
 

Eligibility. To be eligible for the Promotion, the person must, at the time of participation, including when the Boost (as defined below) is awarded:

• be a new or existing Wealthsimple Self-directed Investing, Crypto, Managed Investing or chequing account user, with all Wealthsimple accounts in good standing;
• be an existing Wealthsimple Visa Infinite +*, Wealthsimple Visa Infinite* and Visa Infinite Privilege* credit card (collectively, the “Credit Card”) cardholder, with all Wealthsimple accounts in good standing;
• be a legal resident of Canada;
• be the age of majority, or older, in their province/territory of residence; and
  meet the requirements set out below. (the “Client”).

Promotion Details. This Promotion offers eligible Clients a boosted cash back rate on qualifying BIXI ride and usage transactions made with their Credit Card (the “BIXI Cashback Offer”). To participate in this Promotion, eligible Clients must make a Qualifying Transaction (as defined below) using their Credit Card, subject to the applicable BIXI terms and conditions.

This Promotion applies to BIXI ride fees and related usage fees only, paid for using the Credit Card. Because both ride-related charges and membership purchases may appear under the same merchant descriptor, not all transactions processed under "BIXI MONTREAL" will qualify. Qualifying Transactions are limited to transactions processed and completed under the merchant descriptor “BIXI MONTREAL” during the Promotion Period that relate specifically to (i) individual BIXI ride charges for casual users; (2) monthly batched BIXI ride or usage fees (including e-bike per-minute charges and overage fees) for BIXI members (each, a “Qualifying Transaction”). For the avoidance of doubt, BIXI membership purchases and any transactions that are subsequently refunded or charged back shall not be considered a Qualifying Transaction under this Promotion.

Qualifying Transactions are also subject to all applicable BIXI terms and conditions, as available on BIXI’s website, and Clients should review these terms prior to making a purchase.

Boosted Cashback. Once a Qualifying Transaction is completed, the Client will receive an increased cash back rate of 18% in addition to the Credit Card’s standard 2% cash back earn rate, for a total cash back rate of 20%, calculated on the after-tax value of the Qualifying Transaction (the “Boost”). For the avoidance of doubt, the Boost is only applicable to Qualifying Transactions and shall not be applied to any other transactions completed using the Client’s Credit Card. The standard cash back rate and the increased cash back rate are subject to change at Wealthsimple’s discretion, where reasonable notice of at least sixty (60) days is given to the Client.

Any returns, refunds, chargebacks or adjustments to transactions will proportionately reduce or cancel the Boost earned on the Qualifying Transaction.

All other terms and conditions associated with the Credit Card, including any terms applicable to the provision and use of cash back earned on the Credit Card, apply. This Promotion cannot be applied retroactively and remains subject to change, at Wealthsimple’s sole discretion.

Cashback Redemption. Cashback earned under this Promotion can be redeemed directly in the Wealthsimple app, in accordance with the Credit Card’s terms and conditions. Cashback can only be deposited into the Client’s Wealthsimple chequing, TFSA, RRSP, or non-registered accounts. Joint accounts, RESPs, LIRAs, RIFs, Registered Save, group/employer and private investment accounts are not eligible for redemption. There is no minimum amount required to redeem. 
There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple Account. A Client can open a Wealthsimple Account by visiting https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca and following the instructions on how to create an account. Further details on transferring an account to Wealthsimple can be found at https://wsim.co/transfer-account. 

Refunds. If a refund is processed after the cashback earned from the Boost is redeemed, the amount will be deducted from the Client’s cashback rewards balance.
 

Tax Implications. There are tax implications to promotions of this nature in most instances. Please consult with an accountant or tax professional for additional guidance. Wealthsimple will not be issuing clients a tax slip to report any value derived from the Boost. Clients are solely responsible for any required tax reporting.
 

Combinability. Unless specified in the terms of other promotions, this Promotion can be combined with other offers or promotion codes.
If the Client had previously registered for a non-combinable promotion and subsequently registers for this Promotion, all deposits and transfers eligible for this Promotion will count towards this Promotion and not the previously registered non-combinable promotion(s).

 

Currency. All currency shown in these terms and conditions are in Canadian dollars.

Collection and Use of Personal Information. By participating in this Promotion, Clients understand and agree that Wealthsimple will collect and use their personal information for the purpose of administering this Promotion and in accordance with Wealthsimple’s Privacy Policy, available here. Clients' use of the BIXI bike share service is subject to BIXI's privacy policy, available at https://bixi.com/en/privacy-policy/. Wealthsimple does not collect or receive any personal information from BIXI in connection with this Promotion. 
 

Limitation of Liability. Wealthsimple's role in connection with this Promotion is limited to the administration of the Wealthsimple x BIXI Credit Card Cashback Boost Promotion, including the determination of eligibility, the verification of Qualifying Transactions and Qualifying Funding, and the crediting of the Bonus to eligible Clients. Wealthsimple does not provide, operate, manage, maintain, or control the BIXI bike share service or any related equipment, infrastructure, or technology, and is not a party to any agreement between the Client and BIXI.

The Client's use of the BIXI bike share service is an independent transaction between the Client and BIXI, governed exclusively by BIXI's own terms and conditions, available at https://bixi.com/en/terms-and-conditions/, and applicable law. Any questions, complaints, or claims relating to the BIXI bike share service, including with respect to the availability, condition, or safety of BIXI bikes or related equipment, or any injury, illness, accident, loss, or damage arising from the use of such service, should be directed to BIXI. Clients should review BIXI's terms and conditions prior to using the BIXI service.

In the event that Wealthsimple fails to perform any of its obligations under this Promotion, Wealthsimple's total liability to the Client in connection with such failure shall not exceed the aggregate value of the Bonus that the Client was otherwise entitled to receive under this Promotion, up to a maximum of $200. This limitation applies to liability of any nature, whether contractual, extra-contractual, or otherwise.
Release. By participating in the Promotion, Client assumes all risk of injury, illness, disease, death, or any other damage which may arise in connection with their participation in the Promotion. Without limiting the foregoing, client hereby: (a) forever releases and discharges Wealthsimple and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related and associated entities and employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators of each (collectively, the “Releasees”), from and against any and all claims, actions, costs, liabilities, judgments, damages, obligations, losses, penalties, and expenses of any kind or nature whatsoever (including legal fees) in any way arising directly or indirectly out of any injury, loss, or damage that the Client may suffer as a result of, or in connection with the participation in the Promotion or any Promotion-related activity; and (b) indemnifies, defends and holds harmless the Releasees from and against any and all damages, loss and expenses, including legal fees, which may be suffered directly or indirectly by reason of the Client’s own negligence or willful misconduct during or in connection with their participation in the Promotion.

Wealthsimple is not responsible for, and has no liability in connection with, the BIXI bike share service, including any injury, illness, accident, loss or damage arising from the use of BIXI bikes or related equipment. By participating in this Promotion, Clients acknowledge that any use of the BIXI bike share service is entirely at their own risk and subject to BIXI's own terms and conditions, and that Wealthsimple's role is limited to administering the Wealthsimple x BIXI Cashback Offer.

General. Wealthsimple reserves the right to cancel, amend, withdraw or restrict the Promotion at any time, where reasonable notice of at least sixty (60) days is given to the Client. Wealthsimple is the sole arbiter of these rules and any other issue arising under the Promotion. If Wealthsimple suspects fraudulent or abusive behaviour, gaming of the system, inappropriate, offensive or derogatory language or information or a violation of these terms, as determined in Wealthsimple’s sole and absolute discretion, Wealthsimple reserves the right to remove all promotions from the Wealthsimple account(s) and take any other action it deems appropriate including, but not limited to, removing any benefit derived from the Boost or closing the Wealthsimple account(s). This Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer, unless specified herein. An invitation to participate in this Promotion does not provide assurance that you will be accepted as a customer of Wealthsimple. This Promotion is only valid for individuals in the location cited above that otherwise meet our eligibility requirements. The standard terms (https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/legal/terms) relating to the use of Wealthsimple and any agreements that apply to the Wealthsimple account(s) each apply and are not affected in any way by this Promotion.
