Wealthsimple x BIXI New Client Offer (the “Promotion”)
This Promotion is sponsored by Wealthsimple Technologies Inc. (together with its affiliates “Wealthsimple”).
Promotion Period. From May 1, 2026 at 12:01AM ET to November 15, 2026 at 11:59PM ET (the “Promotion Period”).
Qualification Period. The qualification period begins at 12:01am ET on the day the Client first completes the Account Sign Up (as defined below) or registers for this Promotion (as applicable) during the Promotion Period and ends thirty (30) days after at 11:59pm ET (the "Qualification Period").
Eligibility. To be eligible for the Promotion, the person must, at the time of participation, including when the Bonus (as defined below) is awarded:
- be a Wealthsimple account user who either:
- has never previously opened or funded any Wealthsimple account, or
- first funded any Wealthsimple account no more than thirty (30) days prior to registering for this Promotion;;
- be a legal resident of Canada;
- be the age of majority, or older, in their province/territory of residence; and
- meet the requirements set out below. (the “Client”).
Promotion Details. To qualify for any Bonus (as defined below), eligible Clients must first, complete the Qualifying Funding (as defined below) or have completed the Qualifying Funding within thirty (30) days prior to registering for this Promotion, and then complete the Qualifying Ride (as defined below).
Qualifying Funding. To participate in the Promotion, eligible Clients must first register on the BIXI app, then click the promotion link in the BIXI app to be redirected to Wealthsimple’s website, and then:
- For new Clients who have never previously opened or funded a Wealthsimple account: (i) sign up for a new Wealthsimple account during the Promotion Period from the BIXI redirect link using the same email as associated with Client’s existing BIXI account (the “Account Sign Up”); and (ii) initiate qualified institutional transfer(s), crypto transfer(s), and/or deposits from their existing account at a different investment institution of at least $1 CAD into the Wealthsimple account (the “Qualifying Funding”) within the applicable Qualification Period.
- For existing Clients who first funded a Wealthsimple account no more than thirty (30) days prior to registering for this Promotion: (i) register for this Promotion from the BIXI redirect link using the same email associated with Client's existing BIXI account and existing Wealthsimple account (which, for the avoidance of doubt, must be the same email address) (the "Promotion Registration"); and (ii) have previously initiated a Qualifying Funding no more than thirty (30) days prior to completing the Promotion Registration.
Funds must be received by Wealthsimple either within the Client’s Qualification Period, or, no more than thirty (30) days prior to the Promotion Registration, as applicable, to be considered as Qualifying Funding.
For greater certainty, deposits into the Client’s Wealthsimple accounts, transfers from entities affiliated with Wealthsimple, transfers between the Client’s Wealthsimple accounts, and Wealthsimple for Business Group Plan transfers and deposits will not be considered as Qualifying Funding.
Minimum Account Balance Eligibility. To remain eligible to participate in this Promotion, Clients must maintain a minimum account balance of CAD $1 (cumulatively across all Wealthsimple accounts) throughout the Promotion Period, including at the time of the Qualifying Ride and at the time the Bonus is paid.
Qualifying Activity. This Promotion applies to completed BIXI rides only. Qualifying Rides are limited to completed BIXI rides during the Promotion Period that relate specifically to (1) individual BIXI rides for casual users; (2) rides taken by BIXI members, as determined and reported to Wealthsimple by BIXI each month (each, a “Qualifying Ride”).
Qualifying Rides are also subject to all applicable BIXI terms and conditions, as available on BIXI’s website, and Clients should review these terms prior to using the BIXI service.
There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple account. A Client can open a Wealthsimple account by visiting https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca and following the instructions on how to create an account. Further details on transferring an account to Wealthsimple can be found at https://wsim.co/transfer-account.
Transfer Fee from External Institutions. There may be fees charged by an institution outside of Wealthsimple for the transfer of the Client’s account(s) to Wealthsimple. Wealthsimple will automatically reimburse the transfer-out fee per account from an institution if the Client’s Qualifying Funding is equal to or greater than $25,000 in a single account transfer. Bonus. A cash bonus of $1 (the “Bonus”) per Qualifying Ride will be paid to Clients who complete a Qualifying Ride following completion of their Qualifying Funding or Promotion Registration (as applicable), during the Promotion Period, subject to a maximum of five (5) Qualifying Rides per day per Client, and up to a maximum of two-hundred (200) Qualifying Rides total over the Promotion Period per Client. For the avoidance of doubt, the maximum Bonus to be paid out under this Promotion per Client is $200.
This Bonus is non-transferrable and cannot be applied retroactively. The Bonus remains subject to change on a prospective basis only, at Wealthsimple’s sole discretion, and any such change will not affect Bonuses already earned by Clients prior to the date of such change.
Gamification or Fraudulent Behaviour. If Wealthsimple, as determined at its sole discretion, suspects fraudulent behaviour or gaming the system, Wealthsimple reserves the right to include such withdrawals in the calculation of Qualifying Funding, disqualify the Client from participating in this Promotion and to take any other action it deems appropriate including, but not limited to, removing the awarded Bonuses retail value from the Wealthsimple account(s), or closing their Wealthsimple account(s). For greater certainty, transfers made between Client’s Wealthsimple accounts will not affect the Qualifying Funding.
Application of Bonus. Bonuses will be paid on a cumulative basis each calendar month, on or around the 15th day, or the next business day thereafter.
In order to receive the Bonus, the Client must have a Wealthsimple Chequing (“Chequing”) account that is in good standing. Clients who do not have a Chequing account by the time a Bonus is issued will have ninety (90) days to open a Chequing account. Any Bonus not applied to a Chequing account will expire after ninety (90) days of issuance and any expired Bonus will be considered forfeited by the Client. Wealthsimple is not liable for any forfeited Bonus and any forfeiture will not be reissued.
Tax Implications. There are tax implications to bonuses and rewards of this nature in most instances. Please consult with an accountant or tax professional for additional guidance. Wealthsimple will not be issuing clients a tax slip to report Bonuses paid to a non-registered account. Clients are solely responsible for any required tax reporting.
Combinability. Unless specified in the terms of other promotions, this Promotion can be combined with other offers or promotion codes.
If Client had previously registered for a non-combinable promotion and subsequently registers for this Promotion, all deposits and transfers eligible for this Promotion will count towards this Promotion and not the previously registered non-combinable promotion(s).
If, after receiving a commitment letter pursuant to this Promotion, the Client subsequently registers for another non-combinable promotion(s), please refer to the terms for those promotion(s) for details.
Currency. All currency shown in these terms and conditions are in Canadian dollars.
Collection and Use of Personal Information. By participating in this Promotion, Clients understand and agree that Wealthsimple will collect and use their personal information for the purpose of administering this Promotion and in accordance with Wealthsimple’s Privacy Policy, available here. Clients' use of the BIXI bike share service is subject to BIXI's Privacy Policy, available at https://bixi.com/en/privacy-policy/. BIXI will share your registered email address, the date you registered for this Promotion and your ride count with Wealthsimple for the purposes of administering this Promotion.
Limitation of Liability. Wealthsimple's role in connection with this Promotion is limited to the administration of the Wealthsimple x BIXI New Client Offer Promotion, including the determination of eligibility, the verification of Qualifying Rides and Qualifying Funding, and the crediting of the Bonus to eligible Clients. Wealthsimple does not provide, operate, manage, maintain, or control the BIXI bike share service or any related equipment, infrastructure, or technology, and is not a party to any agreement between the Client and BIXI.
The Client's use of the BIXI bike share service is an independent transaction between the Client and BIXI, governed exclusively by BIXI's own terms and conditions, available at https://bixi.com/en/terms-and-conditions, and applicable law. Any questions, complaints, or claims relating to the BIXI bike share service, including with respect to the availability, condition, or safety of BIXI bikes or related equipment, or any injury, illness, accident, loss, or damage arising from the use of such service, should be directed to BIXI. Clients should review BIXI's terms and conditions prior to using the BIXI service.
In the event that Wealthsimple fails to perform any of its obligations under this Promotion, Wealthsimple's total liability to the Client in connection with such failure shall not exceed the aggregate value of the Bonus that the Client was otherwise entitled to receive under this Promotion, up to a maximum of $200. This limitation applies to liability of any nature, whether contractual, extra-contractual, or otherwise.
Release. By participating in the Promotion, Client assumes all risk of any loss or damage which may arise in connection with their participation in the Promotion. Without limiting the foregoing, client hereby: (a) forever releases and discharges Wealthsimple and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related and associated entities and employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators of each (collectively, the “Releasees”), from and against any and all claims, actions, costs, liabilities, judgments, damages, obligations, losses, penalties, and expenses of any kind or nature whatsoever (including legal fees) in any way arising directly or indirectly out of any injury, loss, or damage that the Client may suffer as a result of, or in connection with the participation in the Promotion or any Promotion-related activity; and (b) indemnifies, defends and holds harmless the Releasees from and against any and all damages, loss and expenses, including legal fees, which may be suffered directly or indirectly by reason of the Client’s own negligence or willful misconduct during or in connection with their participation in the Promotion.
Wealthsimple is not responsible for, and has no liability in connection with, the BIXI bike share service, including any injury, illness, accident, loss or damage arising from the use of BIXI bikes or related equipment. By participating in this Promotion, Clients acknowledge that any use of the BIXI bike share service is entirely at their own risk and subject to BIXI's own terms and conditions, and that Wealthsimple's role is limited to administering the Wealthsimple x BIXI New Client Offer.
General. Wealthsimple reserves the right to cancel, amend, withdraw or restrict the Promotion at any time, where reasonable notice of at least sixty (60) days is given to the Client. Wealthsimple is the sole arbiter of these rules and any other issue arising under the Promotion. If Wealthsimple suspects fraudulent or abusive behaviour, gaming of the system, inappropriate, offensive or derogatory language or information or a violation of these terms, as determined in Wealthsimple’s sole and absolute discretion, Wealthsimple reserves the right to remove all promotions from the Wealthsimple account(s) and take any other action it deems appropriate including, but not limited to, removing any benefit derived from the Boost or closing the Wealthsimple account(s). This Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer, unless specified herein. An invitation to participate in this Promotion does not provide assurance that you will be accepted as a customer of Wealthsimple. This Promotion is only valid for individuals in the location cited above that otherwise meet our eligibility requirements.
