1. What’s the prize?

   We’re giving away fifteen 1 ounce gold coins, collectively worth over $100,000. There will be 15 lucky winners, each receiving one 1oz Wealtshimple gold coin.

   Prize limit: Maximum 1 prize per person.

2. How do I enter the giveaway? 

   Open the Wealthsimple app, scroll to the bottom of the home page, and spin the coin once per day between February 2 - 28, 2026. The more days you spin, the more entries you earn, and the better your chances of winning! 

3. How many times can I spin?

   You can spin once per day during the promotion period from February 2 - 28, 2026.

4. Is there a deadline to spin each day?

   Yes, you must spin before 11:59 PM ET each day. Your spin opportunity expires at midnight and cannot be carried over.

5. How is the value of the gold prizes calculated? 

   The value of gold is calculated as of January 30, 2026 at CAD$6,670 per ounce. Due to market fluctuations, the actual market value of the 1 oz gold coins may rise or diminish over time. The winners are not entitled to the difference, if any, between the stated and actual market value of these prizes at the time the/ prizes are awarded. 

6. What's the timeline for this giveaway? 

   Feb 2, 2026 (2:00 pm ET): Start earning entries!

   Feb 28, 2026 (11:59 pm ET): Last day to complete spin the coin and complete entries

   March 13, 2026: Winners are selected.

7. Who can enter? 

   This contest is open to new or existing Wealthsimple clients who are legal residents of Canada, and who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory at the time of entry. Wealthsimple employees, representatives, affiliates, independent contractors engaged to promote the Contest and their immediate family members are not eligible. 

8. Can Quebec residents enter the giveaway? 

   Yes, residents of Quebec are eligible to participate. 

9. How many entries do I get per spin?

   Your first spin will earn you 100 entries into the Contest. Subsequent spins will earn a random number of entries between 10 and 100,000. Remember, you’ll only earn entries on your first spin of each day during the Contest, with each day ending at 11:59:59pm EST.

10. How do I confirm my entries? 

    You can track the progress of your spin entries by opening the Wealthsimple app, tapping the 🎁 in the top right corner, and clicking on the Spin The Coin card. Note that your entries may take up to 72 hours to appear in the app. 

11. How do I claim my prize if I win? 

    The winners will be selected at random on March 13. If you’re chosen, we’ll contact you by email within three business days of the draw date. To officially claim your prize, you’ll need to correctly answer a skill-testing question and complete a release form within two days of our notification. You’ll also need to open a Wealthsimple non-registered Self-Directed Investing account to claim your prize if you do not already have one. 

12. What if I win, but I don’t want the gold? 

    The 1 oz gold coin prizes must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions.

13. What are the tax implications of winning? 

    Any tax obligations remain the winner’s responsibility, and the winner is responsible for any costs or expenses related to their prize (including insurance, storage fees and capital gains). 

14. Do I need to pay anything to enter? 

    No. There is no cost to enter, and no purchase is required. Winners will need to have or open a Wealthsimple account in order to claim their prize. There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple account.

CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY

THE CONTEST IS INTENDED TO BE CONDUCTED ONLY IN CANADA AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO APPLICABLE CANADIAN LAW. VOID IN WHOLE OR IN PART WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ENTRY IN THE CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONTEST RULES (THE “CONTEST RULES”).

CONTEST PERIOD: The contest period will begin at 2:00pm Eastern Time (“ET”) on February 2, 2026, and will end at 11:59pm ET on February 28, 2026 (the “Contest Period”), after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries shall be accepted.

ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, the entrant must:

• a new or existing Wealthsimple client where an account is necessary as a condition of entry and/or claiming a Prize, with all Wealthsimple accounts in good standing at the time of entry and/or at the time the Prize is awarded;
• a legal resident of Canada at the time of entry and at the time the Prize is awarded;
• the age of majority, or older, in your province/territory of residence at the time of entry; and
• meet the entry requirements set out below

(each an “Entrant”).

Employees, officers and directors of Wealthsimple and its partners and associate companies, each of their advertising and promotional agencies and their respective affiliates and associates, independent contractors engaged by Wealthsimple to promote the Contest and such individuals’ immediate family members and persons with whom such individuals are domiciled, are not eligible to enter or participate in the Contest. For the purposes of the Contest Rules, “immediate family” refers to the spouse, dependent for federal income tax purposes, step-, biological, foster, in-law or adoptive parent, sibling or child of such an employee, agent and/or representative, or who is domiciled in the same household as any such person.

Wealthsimple shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to Wealthsimple for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify the Entrant, should the Entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary. To enter, eligible Entrants must open and log in to the Wealthsimple app and spin the gold coin displayed on the bottom of the app during the Contest Period. Each spin will earn entries as follows:

First Spin: Each Entrant's first spin during the Contest Period will earn one hundred (100) entries.

Subsequent Spins: Each Entrant’s subsequent daily spins after their first spin will be assigned to either the Regular Tier or Jackpot Tier, which shall determine the number of entries earned by that spin. 

Each spin will be allocated a number between 1 to 202. Spins that are allocated the numbers 1 to 200 will be assigned to the Regular Tier (approximately 99% of spins per day). Spins that are allocated the numbers 201 to 202 will be assigned to the Jackpot Tier (approximately 1% of spins per day). 

Entries will be awarded based on the tier allocated, as further set out below:

• Regular Tier: Spins assigned to the Regular Tier will receive a number of entries in fixed increments of ten (10), ranging from a minimum of ten (10) entries up to a maximum of two-hundred (200) entries. Each of these twenty possible increments (i.e., 10 entries, 20 entries, 30 entries, etc. up to 200 entries) carries an equal probability, representing approximately 5% of the total daily spins assigned to the Regular Tier.
• Jackpot Tier: Spins assigned to the Jackpot Tier will receive a number of entries in fixed increments of ten thousand (10,000), ranging from a minimum of ten thousand (10,000) to one hundred thousand (100,000). Each of these ten possible increments (i.e., 10,000 entries, 20,000 entries, 30,000 entries, etc. up to 100,000 entries) carries an equal probability, representing 10% of the total daily spins assigned to the Jackpot Tier. Based on the allocation above, each individual increment within the Regular Tier has a 4.95% chance of being awarded per spin, and each individual increment within the Jackpot Tier has a 0.1% chance of being awarded per spin.

Limit of one (1) spin per day (with each day ending at 11:59:59 PM EST) during the Contest Period per Entrant, for a maximum of twenty-seven (27) spins throughout the Contest Period per Entrant. An Entrant may accumulate multiple entries over the Contest Period based on the number of entries earned from each daily spin.

 

PRIZES: 

Fifteen (15) Prizes available to be won in Canada, each consisting of a one (1) ounce Wealthsimple-branded gold coin (each, a “Prize”). The approximate retail value of a Prize is approximately CAD$6,670 as of January 30, 2026. 

The approximate retail value of the Prize is calculated based on the price of gold quoted as of January 30, 2026, at CAD$6,670 per ounce. Due to market fluctuations, the market value of the Prize may rise or diminish over time. The Winner of a Prize is not entitled to the difference, if any, between the stated and actual market value of the Prize at the time the Prize is awarded.

The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, non-refundable, has no cash-surrender value, and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions. Wealthsimple reserves the right, for any reason and in its sole discretion, to substitute and/or modify the Prize with another prize that is of equal or greater value. The Winner is solely responsible for any costs or expenses related to their Prize, including, but not limited to, any insurance, storage fees or capital gains derived from the Prize.

DRAW: Fifteen (15) entries will be selected via random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period on or around March 13, 2026 at approximately 12:00 PM ET in Toronto, Ontario (“Draw Date”). 

In order to claim the Prize, the selected Entrant(s) that satisfied the requirement of this Contest (each a “Winner”) must have a Wealthsimple non-registered Self-Directed Investing account. If, at the time of the Winner Notification, a Winner does not have a Wealthsimple non-registered Self-Directed Investing account, they will be required to open one within the prescribed time as a condition of receiving the Prize. There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple account.

The Prize will be distributed to the respective Winners via a secure, insured shipping partner, ten (10) business days after the Winner completes and returns the Winner Declaration and Release to Wealthsimple, provided that they satisfy all requirements of the Contest. The Prize will only be delivered to the residential address listed on each Winner’s Wealthsimple profile. The Winner must be available at the time of delivery (or for missed deliveries, collection) to sign for their Prize and show adequate identification. If any Winner of the Prize fails to collect their respective Prize within two (2) days from the shipping partner, such Winner may be disqualified and Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to follow the provisions and procedures referred to below relating to selection and notification of a potential Prize winner, until a qualified Prize winner has been duly selected, or there are no more eligible entries, whichever occurs first.

ODDS: The odds of being selected as a potential Winner are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received by Wealthsimple during the Contest Period. Maximum of one (1) Prize per Entrant.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Within three (3) business days of the Draw Date, Wealthsimple, acting reasonably, will attempt to contact the potential Winner(s) of the Contest via e-mail and/or telephone as associated with the Wealthsimple account (“Winner Notification”). The Winner Notification may also be provided through an in-app notification on the Contest page. The selected Entrant must confirm receipt of the Winner Notification, and complete all steps outlined therein including the completion of a Winner Declaration and Release form. In the event a potential Winner cannot be contacted by 11:59:59 PM ET three (3) days after the Winner Notification or there is a return of any notification as undeliverable, or otherwise does not meet the eligibility or Contest requirements, they may be disqualified and Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to follow the provisions and procedures referred above relating to selection and notification of a potential Prize winner, with the necessary amendments, until a qualified Prize winner has been duly selected, or there are no more eligible entries, whichever occurs first. Wealthsimple is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected Entrant to receive notification or for Wealthsimple to receive a selected Entrant’s response.

No correspondence will be entered into except with Entrants requesting the Contest Rules by mail or requesting the name(s) of the Winner, for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included. Requests should be addressed to Wealthsimple’s Chief Compliance Officer at 400-80 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5V 2J4.

SKILL TESTING QUESTION: Before being declared a Winner, the potential Winner shall be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered in the Winner Declaration and Release form, to comply with the Contest Rules, and to sign and return the Release within the period specified by Wealthsimple.

RELEASE: By entering the Contest, the Entrant agrees to release and to hold Wealthsimple and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related and associated entities, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators (the “Releasees”) harmless from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to the Entrant or any other person, including personal injury, death, or property damage, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any Prize, participation in the Contest, any breach of the Contest Rules, or in any Prize-related activity. The Entrant agrees to fully indemnify Wealthsimple, and the Releasees from any and all claims by third parties relating to the Contest, without limitation.

Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility or liability for lost, late, unintelligible/illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected or incomplete entries, notifications, responses, replies or any release, or for any computer, online, software, telephone, hardware or technical malfunctions that may occur, including but not limited to malfunctions that may affect the transmission or non-transmission of an entry. Wealthsimple is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest. Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Wealthsimple is not responsible for any problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail, players, applications or browsers, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website or application, or on account of any combination of the foregoing or otherwise. Wealthsimple is not responsible for any injury or damage to the Entrant or to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in the Contest. The entrant assumes liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the Contest, or by the acceptance, possession of, use of, or failure to receive any Prize. Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility or liability in the event that the Contest cannot be conducted as planned for any reason, including those reasons beyond the control of Wealthsimple, such as infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or corruption of the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, the Contest website(s) and/or the Contest application(s). Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility for entries which fail to comply with the Contest Rules. Wealthsimple assumes no responsibility for any failure of Wealthsimple’s website or application during the Contest Period, including any problems or technical malfunctions of any computer on-line systems, servers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail, notification or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, any website, any application, or any combination thereon.

Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, and/or modify, amend or suspend the Contest, and/or the Contest Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice.

PUBLICITY: Unless prohibited by law, the Winner agrees that by accepting a Prize, Wealthsimple may use the Winner’s name, likeness, photo, video, city of residence, biographical information, prize information and/or statements about this Contest for publicity purposes with no compensation, notification or permission.

TAMPERING: All entries are subject to verification. By participating in the Contest, the Entrant agrees to be bound by the Contest Rules. The Entrant further agrees to be bound by the decisions of Wealthsimple, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant found to be:

1. violating the Contest Rules;
2. tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, the Contest website, the Contest application or any related promotional website or application;
3. using any automated, script, macro, robotic or other program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in the Contest; or
4. acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE CONTEST WEBSITE, THE CONTEST APPLICATION OR OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, WEALTHSIMPLE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade-names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations used in connection with the Contest are the property of Wealthsimple and/or its affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION: By entering the Contest, the Entrant understands and agrees that Wealthsimple will collect, use and disclose their personal information for the purposes of administering the Contest, as well as in accordance to the Privacy Policy as applicable to their Wealthsimple account. By entering the Contest, Entrants also expressly consent to Wealthsimple collection and use  of their personal information, including their email address any any applicable survey responses, for the purposes of better understanding Entrants' interests and preferences, and to send commercial electronic messages (including emails, SMS text message and other communications)  to the Entrant for the purpose of marketing, promoting and offering Wealthsimple products, services or events, as well as products, services or events of Wealthsimple’s affiliates. For clarity, the collection and use of Entrants' personal information described above is in furtherance of the Contest's broader purpose of enabling Wealthsimple to better understand its customers and their preferences. Entrants may withdraw this marketing consent at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in each commercial electronic message or by contacting Wealthsimple. This consent for marketing communications is separate from the consent required to administer the Contest, and Entrants may enter the Contest without providing this marketing consent.

CONSTRUCTION: The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. The Contest Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over Wealthsimple. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and Wealthsimple in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario including procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws. All dollar amounts referred to in the Contest Rules are stated in Canadian Dollars. 

Invalidity or unenforceability of any provisions, in part or in full of these Contest Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability for the remainder of the rules. The Contest Rules shall be interpreted as if the invalid or unenforceable provisions were not included, should such provisions exist.

In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, and/or between the English and French language version of these Contest Rules, the terms and conditions of the English language version of the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
