General Information
How do I qualify for the 2025 Apple AirPods Promotion?
There are two simple steps to qualifying. New and current Wealthsimple clients can qualify by:
1. Registering for the offer during the Promotion Period (May 15, 2025, to July 2, 2025) via:
• The Wealthsimple website, or,
• The Promotion marketing materials (ads, emails, etc.) or
• A promotional card included within the Wealthsimple app, or
• An invitation from a Wealthsimple Business Development Representative
2. Transferring or depositing at least $25,000 of qualifying funds into your Self-directed Investing, Managed Investing, Crypto, or chequing accounts within 30 days of registering

How do I confirm that I've registered?
You'll receive a confirmation email at the address we have on file. You can check your registration status in the Reward Centre in the Wealthsimple app or on the desktop site within 24 hours of registering.
Which AirPods can I receive with this promotion?
That depends on your net deposits (deposits minus withdrawals and any margin debit balances) during the qualifying period:
• $25,000–$49,999.99: AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation
• $50,000–$99,999.99: AirPods Pro 2
• $100,000–$199,999.99: AirPods Max (in Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Orange, or Purple) or two x AirPods Pro 2
• $200,000+: two x AirPods Max (in Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Orange, or Purple)
Funding and Eligibility
Is there a minimum amount I must deposit?
Yes, a minimum of $25,000 in net deposits is required to qualify for the promotion.
What if I withdraw money, register for the promotion, and then redeposit money? Does that count?
No.
If you make large or multiple withdrawals before registering for the promotion, these withdrawals may be included in the calculation of your eligible deposits. If we suspect attempts to game the system, we reserve the right to remove you from the promotion altogether.
Which transfers and deposits are eligible?
Deposits, institutional transfers, and crypto transfers from other Canadian investment institutions are eligible. All account types are eligible.
Transfers between Wealthsimple accounts and Wealthsimple for Business Group Plan accounts are not eligible.
If you transfer a non-registered margin account with a margin debit balance, that balance will be deducted from the total transfer value.
If you transfer USD assets or cash, the value of the transferred assets will be calculated using the exchange rate when the transfer is processed by Wealthsimple, not at the notification of Transfer completion.
Do I have to pay transfer fees?
Wealthsimple will automatically reimburse the transfer-out fee per account from another institution if the transfer amount is $25,000 or more in a single account transfer.
I have a joint account. Can both account owners contribute towards receiving two rewards?
No.
Deposits into a joint account or Spousal RRSP will only count toward the eligibility of the primary account holder.
If you make deposits to a joint account, the primary account holder needs to be registered to receive the reward, but both account holders can contribute to the qualifying amount.
Selecting and Receiving Your AirPods or Cash Bonus
When will I be able to select my AirPods?
You'll be able to select your reward within 30 business days of your net funding amount being received by Wealthsimple, if it meets the qualifying minimum. Once you select your reward and specifications, they cannot be changed.
If you have funds pending that may change your tier, you can wait to select your reward.
If you select a reward before your 30-day funding period ends, any further funding will not count towards your eligibility. This includes anything still pending when you selected.
How will I receive my AirPods?
If you choose AirPods, they will be shipped to your provided Canadian mailing address (not a P.O. box) within 30 business days of your reward selection. If you choose a cash bonus, it will be applied to your Wealthsimple chequing account within one day of confirming your selection.
I don't want the AirPods, can I get cash instead?
Yes! If you've qualified for the promotion, you can select a cash bonus instead. The bonus will be a one-time payment. You'll need an open Chequing account to receive it, and the amount you can receive based on your qualifying funding is:
• $25,000–$49,999.99: $150
• $50,000–$99,999.99: $200
• $100,000–$199,999.99: $450
• $200,000+: $900
Redeeming the cash option will be available starting May 20, 2025.
Can I send my AirPods to someone else as a gift?
Yes! You can deliver your AirPods to any non-P.O. box address and person you choose. When selecting your reward, just edit the delivery address and add the name of the recipient to the instructions field.
What if my preferred colour or model is unavailable?
Wealthsimple reserves the right to substitute the specifications if your preferred specifications are not available.
Can I exchange or return my AirPods?
No. Once the AirPods are shipped, returns are not accepted and the reward is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-refundable, and has no surrender value.
Delivery
What if my AirPods arrive damaged?
Wealthsimple can help if you report this within 14 days of delivery, after which you will need to deal with Apple directly.
1. First, report this to Apple at https://getsupport.apple.com/
2. If the Apple team is unable to resolve the issue, a Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) case number will be provided.
3. Reach out to Wealthsimple Support and share this ID with our Promotions team. They'll help investigate and follow up with you as necessary.
Will I receive shipping updates?
Yes. You'll be notified via email when your order is shipped, with tracking information provided.
What if I'll be away when my AirPods are delivered?
You can hold off on selecting your reward (you have 30 days from notification), or you can provide an alternative delivery address during checkout.
Are there any tax implications?
There may be tax implications to rewards of this nature. Please consult with an accountant or tax professional. Wealthsimple will not issue tax slips for rewards.
Will I have to sign for the delivery?
It depends. Delivery is managed by Apple and their partners, FedEx and UPS. They determine whether or not your AirPods package will require a signature.
Unfortunately, we can't change whether your package will require a signature or not.
Hold Period
How long do the funds I deposit have to stay in my Wealthsimple accounts?
You must maintain your balance for 365 days after the end of your 30-day funding period. This includes:
• Your balance at the start of your funding period
• At least 95% of the minimum amount required for your reward
Transfers between your own Wealthsimple account(s), withdrawals from the Home Buyers' Plan or First Home Savings Account for the purpose of purchasing a home, annual mandatory minimum withdrawals from Life Income Fund or Registered Retirement Income Fund, and/or your balance falling below the required amount because of market fluctuations will not be considered a breach or withdrawal.
What happens if I withdraw money during the hold period?
Suppose you withdraw more than 5% of the minimum required amount for the reward during the hold period. In that case, the retail value of your AirPods or the cash reward deposited may be deducted from your withdrawal amount or otherwise recovered by Wealthsimple.
Transfers between your own Wealthsimple accounts, Home Buyers' Plan withdrawals, First Home Savings Account withdrawals for purchasing a home, and annual mandatory minimum withdrawals from LIF or RRIF accounts are not counted toward the withdrawal limit.
EXAMPLE
Let's say you had $50,000 in your Wealthsimple account at the start of the promotion and transferred assets valued at $150,000 to earn a reward. Your net funding amount is now $200,000.
Since the minimum you need to get your reward was $100,000, and you are granted a 5% buffer, you will need to keep a minimum of $145,000 ($50,000 plus 95% of $100,000) across your Wealthsimple accounts, or we will consider recovering the cash value of the reward.
Should your balance fall below $145,000 before the hold period ends, you will receive a warning email, and we will allow you to redeposit funds and restore your minimum.
Other Questions
Can I combine this offer with other promotions?
This promotion can be combined with the Wealthsimple Referral Promotion, Wealthsimple x Pine Mortgage Cash Back Offer, Wealthsimple Chequing Discovery Promotion, Direct Deposit Incentive, and Super Boost Referral Promotion.
What happens if I don't select my AirPods within the selection window?
If you don't select your reward within the selection window (30 business days after Wealthsimple receives your net deposits), the reward will be considered forfeited.
How do I opt out of the promotion?
Reach out to our support team if you'd no longer like to participate in the promotion. If you do not qualify, or qualify but do not select a device, you will not be subject to the hold period.
Is there another way to get Airpods?

Terms and Conditions
2025 Wealthsimple Apple AirPods Promotion (the "Promotion")
This promotion is sponsored by Wealthsimple Technologies Inc. (“Wealthsimple”).
Promotion Period. The period to which individuals can register for the Promotion starts on May 15, 2025 at 12:01AM ET and ends on July 2, 2025 at 11:59PM ET (the “Promotion Period”).
Eligibility. To be eligible for the Promotion, the person must, at the time of participation, including when the Reward is awarded:
- be a new or existing Wealthsimple Self-directed Investing, Managed Investing, Crypto, or chequing account (each a “Wealthsimple Account”) user, with all Wealthsimple accounts in good standing;
- be a legal resident of Canada;
- be the age of majority, or older, in their province/territory of residence; and
- meet the requirements set out below. (a “Client”).
Funding Period. The funding period begins at 12:01am ET on the day of the Client’s first registration of the Promotion during the Promotion Period and ends thirty (30) days after at 11:59pm ET (the “Funding Period”).
Qualifying Action. To participate in the Promotion, eligible Clients must: (i) first register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period via either: (a) the Promotion marketing materials, (b) a promotional card included within the Wealthsimple app, (c) the Wealthsimple website, or (d) an invitation from a Wealthsimple Business Development Representative, then (ii) initiate deposit(s) from a third-party financial institution, institutional transfer(s), or crypto transfer(s) from their existing investment account at a Canadian investment institution other than Wealthsimple, totaling $25,000 or more into a Wealthsimple Account during the Funding Period (“Qualifying Funding”). Funds must be received by Wealthsimple within ninety (90) days of the end of the Funding Period to be considered a Qualifying Funding. For greater certainty, transfers or deposits from entities affiliated with Wealthsimple, transfers between the Client’s Wealthsimple accounts, and transfers or deposits to Wealthsimple for Business Group Plan will not be considered Qualifying Funding.
There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple Account. A Client can open a Wealthsimple Account by visiting https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca and following the instructions on how to create an account. Further details on transferring an account to Wealthsimple can be found at https://wsim.co/transfer-account.
If the Client’s Wealthsimple Account is an RESP, a Spousal RRSP, or a joint account (each a “Multiple Holder Account”) where there is a primary and secondary account holder, the primary account holder must be the individual registered for the Promotion to be eligible for the Reward (as defined below). Registrations by a secondary account holder in their capacity as a secondary account holder for a Multiple Holder Account are not considered valid registrations for the purpose of this Promotion. When the primary account holder is registered for the Promotion, any transfers, deposits, or withdrawals to and from the Wealthsimple Account made by the primary or the secondary account holder will count towards the calculation of the Net Funding Amount (as defined below) for the primary account holder. Any Reward applied per these terms and conditions would be towards the primary account holder. For greater certainty, the secondary account holder will not be eligible for a Reward.
Transfer Fee from External Institutions. There may be fees charged by an institution outside of Wealthsimple for the transfer of the Client’s account(s) to Wealthsimple. Wealthsimple will automatically reimburse the transfer-out fee per account from an institution if the Client’s Qualifying Funding is equal to or greater than $25,000 in a single account transfer. Reward. The reward (“Reward”) is based on the cumulative transfers and deposits amount into the Wealthsimple Account less withdrawals and any margin debit balances during the Funding Period (“Net Funding Amount”) in accordance with the chart below:

Other specifications of the Reward not noted in these terms are subject to availability. Wealthsimple reserves the right to substitute the specifications of the Reward if the Client’s preferred specifications are not available. Wealthsimple is not responsible for any costs associated with using the Reward. The Reward remains subject to change, at our sole discretion. Wealthsimple reserves the right, for any reason and in its sole discretion, to substitute and/or modify the Reward with another prize that is of equal or greater value. Limit of one (1) Reward per Client.
If Wealthsimple, as determined at its sole discretion, suspects fraudulent behaviour or gaming the system including, but not limited to, making withdrawals prior to the Funding Period and subsequently depositing part or all of those withdrawals for the purpose of benefiting from this Promotion, Wealthsimple reserves the right to include such withdrawals in the calculation of Net Funding Amount, disqualify the Client from participating this Promotion and to take any other action it deems appropriate including, but not limited to, removing the Reward retail value from the Wealthsimple account(s), or closing their Wealthsimple account(s). For greater certainty, transfers made between Client’s Wealthsimple account will not affect the Net Funding Amount.
The Reward is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, non-refundable, and if the Reward is not a cash bonus, it has no cash surrender value.
Currency. All currency shown in these terms and conditions are in Canadian dollars.
Delivery of Reward. Eligible Clients will be able to select their Reward, including the specification of the Reward, preference selection (if any) and mailing address, within thirty (30) business days of their Net Funding Amount being received by Wealthsimple (“Selection Window”). In the case of cash bonus, the Selection Window will be available for selection starting May 22, 2025. Once the Reward and specification are selected, they cannot be changed. If the Client fails to select their Reward within the Selection Window, the Reward will be considered forfeited and no Reward will be sent to the Client. Any unclaimed Reward, unresponsive communication, or Reward forfeiture will not be rewarded and has no cash value.
If the Client chooses a non-cash bonus Reward, subject to availability from the Reward provider, the non-cash bonus Reward will be sent to the Client within thirty (30) business days of Client’s Reward selection. The non-cash bonus Reward will be sent to the Client via postal mail. The mailing address must be a Canadian mailing address and cannot be a P.O. box address. The Client may incur shipping costs where the delivery location is outside of major metropolitan areas. No responsibility is assumed by Wealthsimple once the Reward has been shipped. No responsibility is assumed for any delivery returned as undeliverable. Client(s) bears all risks to the Reward upon delivery.
If the Client selected a cash bonus as their Reward, the Client must have a Wealthsimple chequing account ("Chequing Account") that is in good standing. The cash bonus will be applied as a one-time payment to the Client's Chequing Account which the Client’s prepaid Mastercard is linked to within one (1) day of Client’s confirmation of cash bonus Reward selection.
All Wealthsimple account(s) must be in good standing at the time any Reward is awarded.
Hold Period. Unless specified herein, Clients who receive a Reward may not spend or otherwise remove: (i) the cumulative balance of the Client’s Wealthsimple account(s) as at the start date of the Funding Period, and (ii) more than 5% of the minimum cumulative Net Funding Amount required to obtain the Client’s applicable Reward from their Wealthsimple account(s) (“Withdrawal Limit”) for 365 days after the end of the Funding Period. If a Client goes over the Withdrawal Limit, the Reward retail value as stated in these Terms & Conditions plus applicable taxes may be deducted from their final withdrawal amount or otherwise recovered by Wealthsimple. Transfers between the Client’s own Wealthsimple account(s), withdrawals from the Home Buyers’ Plan or First Home Savings Account for the purpose of purchasing a home, annual mandatory minimum withdrawals from Life Income Fund or Registered Retirement Income Fund, and/or negative fluctuations in the Net Funding Amount solely due to market conditions are not be counted towards the Withdrawal Limit. Withdrawals on any profits, dividends, interests or benefits otherwise derived from the Net Funding Amount, and withdrawals from a Multiple Holder Account by the secondary account holder will be counted towards the Withdrawal Limit.
Tax Implications. There are tax implications to bonuses and rewards of this nature in most instances. Please consult with an accountant or tax professional for additional guidance. Wealthsimple will not be issuing clients a tax slip to report Reward issued. Clients are solely responsible for any required tax reporting.
Combinability. Unless specified in the terms of other promotions, this Promotion cannot be combined with other offers or promotion codes other than the Wealthsimple Referral Promotion, Wealthsimple x Pine Mortgage Cash Back Offer, Wealthsimple Discovery Promotion, Direct Deposit Incentive, Super Boost Referral Promotion, and Wealthsimple Chequing Direct Deposit Cash Back Incentive Promotion.
If the Client has previously registered for a non-combinable promotion and subsequently registers for this Promotion, all deposits and transfers eligible for this Promotion will count towards this Promotion and not the previously registered non-combinable promotion(s).
If, after registering for this Promotion, the Client subsequently registers for another non-combinable promotion(s), please refer to the terms for those promotion(s) for details.
Collection and Use of Personal Information. By participating in this Promotion, Clients understand and agree that Wealthsimple will collect and use their personal information for the purpose of administering this Promotion (including providing information to Reward provider or mail provider) and in accordance with Wealthsimple’s Privacy Policy, available here. Any questions regarding Wealthsimple’s Privacy Policy or treatment of your personal information should be directed to Wealthsimple’s Privacy Officer at privacy@wealthsimple.com or 400-80 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5V 2J4. Release. By participating in the Promotion, Client assumes all risk of injury, illness, disease, death, or any other damage which may arise in connection with their participation in the Promotion or receipt or use of a Reward. Without limiting the foregoing, client hereby: (a) forever releases and discharges Wealthsimple and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related and associated entities and employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators of each (collectively, the “Releasees”), from and against any and all claims, actions, costs, liabilities, judgments, damages, obligations, losses, penalties, and expenses of any kind or nature whatsoever (including legal fees) (collectively, the “Claims”) in any way arising directly or indirectly out of any injury, loss, or damage that the Client may suffer as a result of, or in connection with the participation in the Promotion or any promotion-related activity, including the posting of any Reward in their Wealthsimple account or the receipt or use of any Reward; and (b) indemnifies, defends and holds harmless the Releasees from and against any and all damages, loss and expenses, including legal fees, which may be suffered directly or indirectly by reason of the Client’s own negligence or willful misconduct during or in connection with their participation in the Promotion or receipt or use of any Reward. Any Claims (including without limitation and by way of example only, product liability claims or misleading advertising claims) related to a Reward should be directed to the Reward provider and not Wealthsimple and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Client releases the Releases from all Claims and liabilities with respect to any and all Reward.
Apple. Apple, the Apple logo, AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions.
General. Wealthsimple reserves the right to cancel, amend, withdraw or restrict the Promotion at any time without notice. Wealthsimple is the sole arbiter of these rules and any other issue arising under the Promotion. If Wealthsimple suspects fraudulent or abusive behaviour, gaming of the system, inappropriate, offensive or derogatory language or information or a violation of these terms, as determined in Wealthsimple’s sole and absolute discretion, Wealthsimple reserves the right to remove all promotions from the Wealthsimple account(s) and take any other action it deems appropriate including, but not limited to, removing the Reward or closing the Wealthsimple account(s). This Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer, unless specified herein. An invitation to participate in this Promotion does not provide assurance that you will be accepted as a customer of Wealthsimple. This Promotion is only valid for individuals in the location cited above that otherwise meet our eligibility requirements.
